Inside the Pearl

This fantastic fiery lion greets every visitor as they enter the line to visit the Oriental Pearl Tower. It was my second or third trip before I got the pictures I wanted. The line going to the elevator moves so quickly that I am quite pleased with myself to have found just the right position in line to take this shot.

DongFan MingZuTa

The "Oriental Pearl" TV tower -- "Pearl of the East"or dongfan mingzu -- is the tallest tower in Asia and the third tallest tower in the world.

Mission Impossible Buildings

In the movie M-I-III (Mission Impossible 3) Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruse) "fulcrum jumped" from the roof of the Bank of China Building on the left to the lower roof of the PICC building. In these photos you can get a sense of the relative distance between the two buildings as well as the height of their respective rooftops. p.s., as near as I cal tell there are no armed guards on either rooftop.

I also LOVE the view from my balcony at the Broadway Mansions Hotel, my favorite place to live when I'm in Shanghai. Even when the sky is overcast like it was on this day the view is still breathtaking.
